In the operations of a museum, the creative challenges are as varied as the artistic programme. Finding the best way of reproducing works and pictures for a given medium is a central concern, as are publications and exhibition graphics. Photography, digitization, printing processes and support materials all play their part. The interplay of reproduction technologies is becoming ever more complex, while the number of communication channels is constantly increasing.
At the Kunsthaus Zürich, we attach great importance to project-related publications and exhibition catalogues, which aim to illuminate exhibitions and art-historical contexts and communicate them both during the presentation and beyond. We look for forms that reflect the artistic qualities of a wide range of positions and genres: forms that structure the content while giving readers the freedom to view it according to their own criteria and appreciate it in their own time.
