Museum Guides

Facing the public

The organizational countdown begins with the mailing of the yearly program: adult education centers, art associations, art travel agencies and other clients who need to be notified well in advance are advised and make their reservations for guided tours of the rotating exhibits. The next requests for private tours keep coming prior to and after the opening receptions; various associations, commissions and other institutions, as well as senior citizen groups, sponsors, companies and private groups, all want to reserve their own private event. We thank our mostly female guides (though we have a few male guides too!) for the high quality of the event content. Many guides have worked within the museum team for numerous years and represent an aspect of familiarity for the Kunsthaus visitor. In all cases the guides are professional art historians, highly competent and with a vast general knowledge. Additionally, they need to be didactically apt, master a foreign language such as English, French or Italian and be flexible in terms of their work schedule. In order to also enable the individual visitors to benefit from our guided tours, we schedule them during our temporary exhibits and in our permanent collection (mostly with acoustic electronic devices).
