Kunsthaus Zürich

The curators

These are the curators: Christoph Becker, Oliver Wick, Philippe Büttner, Cathérine Hug, Mirjam Varadinis and Bernhard von Waldkirch. They put together the Kunsthaus programme and catalogues, stage exhibitions, and on top of all this maintain contact with museums throughout the world on all matters relating to art.

Philippe Büttner is responsible for the large Collection of the Kunsthaus. Oliver Wick has probably the most comprehensive international network of any Swiss exhibition organizer, and is an expert on both Classical Modernism and contemporary art. Bernhard von Waldkirch works in the department of drawings covering everything from the old masters to modern art. Mirjam Varadinis specializes in contemporary art on paper. She also organizes exhibitions featuring installations, sculptures and film. Cathérine Hug is an expert on contemporary art who also produces classical projects. Christoph Becker is responsible for exhibitions on the 19th and early 20th centuries. Alongside the medium and long term planning of projects the curators have also made it their task to nurture, develop and extend the Kunsthaus’s international collection.
