Methodologies for the
exposure of the metal

At first the loose dust and the superficial deposits were removed by using hot steam.  The exposure could begin after this initial stage.  The best method proved to be the mechanic removal of the layers with a scalpel, ultrasonic technologies and the use of rotational tools affixed to a flexible rail.  In this manner it was possible to thin and partially remove the layers of corrosion in a controlled way.
