Digilab Talk with James Bridle
James Bridle in conversation with Mirjam Varadinis, curator Kunsthaus Zürich
Event

A new installation by James Bridle (*1980) inaugurates at Kunsthaus Digilab. "The Distractor" deals with algorithmic processes that manipulate our attention and have wound their way into every aspect of our lives. James Bridle shows how even before the Internet, technologies were used to increase the attention economy. With Kunsthaus curator Mirjam Varadinis, he talks about these historical experiments and asks whether AI is really that intelligent or whether we would not be better off discovering non-human forms of intelligence on our planet.
Introduction by Cathérine Hug, curator and co-initiator of Kunsthaus Digilab. See also: digilab.kunsthaus.ch
