Noteworthy among the Old Master drawings are more than 650 works by Henry Fuseli. The groups of works by Albrecht Dürer, William Hogarth, Francisco de Goya and Honoré Daumier are very popular, while Swiss landscapes are particularly well represented.

« In the Collection of Prints and Drawings you can don a pair of gloves and hold valuable objects in your hands to see them right up close. That includes Dada and videos. » — Mirjam Varadinis, Head of the Collection of Prints and Drawings

For the 20th century there are significant drawings, watercolours and collages by Lovis Corinth, Paul Klee, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and Alberto Giacometti. American art post-1960 is also well represented, in the form of John Cage, Sol LeWitt, Claes Oldenburg and Bruce Nauman. The collection includes almost the entire graphic oeuvre of Marcel Broodthaers, Dieter Roth, André Thomkins, Markus Raetz and Lothar Baumgarten, which can be consulted in the study room on request.
