In the first retrospective in Switzerland devoted to Kiki Kogelnik, the Kunsthaus Zürich is showing some 150 works by the leading European Pop artist from four decades. Recognized as a visionary early on, Kogelnik dealt with topics that are more relevant than ever today, from questions of gender and sexual identities to medical diagnostics and robotics.

The artist experimented with a wide range of techniques and materials including collage, airbrush, vinyl, ceramic and, later, glass. This exhibition reveals the art-historical importance of a pioneer who moved with consummate ease among familiar contemporaries such as Niki de Saint Phalle, Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.
