Kiki Kogelnik. Retrospective
To mark the first retrospective of the Pop artist Kiki Kogelnik in Switzerland, the Kunsthaus Zürich is showing some 150 works spanning four decades. The artist was regarded as a visionary early on and incorporated themes into her work that are more topical than ever today: from questions of gender to medical diagnostics and robotics.
The artist experimented with different techniques and materials such as collage, airbrush, vinyl, ceramics and later also with glass. The exhibition shows the art-historical significance of this pioneer, who moved confidently between well-known contemporaries such as Sam Francis, Niki de Saint Phalle and Claes Oldenburg.
This special tour with the curator and interventions by Sabine Himmelsbach, Director HEK, Basel, takes place on the occasion of zurichartweekend.com.
